Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

This title is so wrong

"Verizon buyouts: 10,040 employees accept severance offer"

No, more than that accepted but a whole bunch was denied. This title makes it seem like Verizon is the good guy and everybody is happy with the outcome. That couldn't be further from the truth!

And what about the 34,000 remainder who will be sacked because they didn't take the offer? Corporate greed MUST BE ABOLISHED IN THIS COUNTRY and everyone must speak out against it. Verizon is the 16th biggest company in the world and just got millions more in tax cuts. OUR money.

Verizon makes out squeaky clean in this one. It reads exactly the way they want it to.

To be fair, this was handled better than a typical layoff. Instead of just picking people, they asked and made the offer almost too good to be true. It was by free choice. So in a business perspective, they were the good guy in this compared to how other companies handle it. AT&T sacking another 6K right before Christmas without a choice in the matter is the bad guy.
