Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Potential privacy concerns?

Where would neutral arbiters such as Media Ratings Council, who ensure fairness in calculating ratings figure in this ad-exchange model?. Ignoring the considerations and costs of big data analytics, it remains to be seen if privacy concerns due to monitoring of consumer behavior and the annoyance of interjecting commercials will be acceptable to the subscribers. There is definitely a need to provide what subscribers want and subscribers clearly do not want ads pushed to them and certainly do not want companies prying into their lives

how can a compnay be so brazen as to violate the privacy of its subs?

If the Media Ratings Council disappeared, honestly, would anyone care?

SOMEONE IS ALWAYS LISTENING....ALEXA, AND OTHER SMART DEVICES...In the wake of Facebook’s Cambridge Analytica scandal, Tand the new algorithm would also consider a customer’s physical location, based on their IP address, primary shipping address, and browser settings to help determine their accent. Should Amazon’s patent become a reality, or if accent detection is already possible, it would introduce questions of surveillance and privacy violations, as well as possible discriminatory advertising.

California’s regulation, which passed in June and goes into effect in 2020, sets a new precedent for consumer privacy law in the country. It expands the definition of personal information and gives state residents greater control over the sharing and sale of their data to third parties.

Must be a bot. Unrelated post about what? Not about any layoffs. Mod should pull.
