Many comments are saying FMLA will protect you. How exactly does that work? I’m sure many of the people who’ve already been laid off have FMLA.

I’m on disability but for a real issue medically. I can get laid off? I thought FMLA is job protection. I honestly can’t work and am waiting for long term and applying for SSI disability as son as I can.

You're just delaying the inevitable. It just stops the clock temporarily.

Disability does the same thing.

If you're marked for displacement, you're caught in the net regardless of a delay in your ultimate demise.

you can be laid off or term'd while on FMLA, but it's a much larger risk for the employer to do so. more boxes to check.
