Are we expecting layoffs to happen this week? I wish we could enjoy the holiday season without this stress on our backs. It’s very nerve wracking.

In Sloan’s recent presentation he mentioned only that mortgage has way too many people. He didn’t say that about any other area. But then, his presentation was for the benefit of investors and shareholders so who knows how much fluff there was.
ML was asked on his all-team call if Marketing was exempt from these layoffs because we had already been through the E&E (that name just kills me - what a joke) cuts
He said no we were not exempt, that there would definitely be cuts. On his most recent call he said the cuts would not happen this year.
I suspect it won’t be long into the new year when it happens, but that’s just my opinion, not based on hard facts.
Any word if JM’s marketing org will be affected?
Hearing the same about Feb being the next big round of layoffs. Budgets are being adjusted to reward managers for cutting entire departments rather minor cuts here and there. I just wish they’d hurry up so we can get on with life without having this doomsday cloud overhead.
The problem is these aren't merit based layoffs, or so they say. Supposedly "random" based on HR designations. You wonder why large companies struggle, it's because they don't retain their top talent, and instead are left with lazy incompetent employees who just toe the line and do what leadership tells them to do, without a second thought. If layoffs were based purely on performance, cut the "fat" so to speak, it would motivate people to do better.
The problem with the trickle is 80% of the employees think they are part of the 10% getting laid off. Next round is in January but most have already been prentice.
The next "Big" or "Massive" layoff wont be until Feburary.. They may eliminate a few positions here and there the next 6 or so weeks, but the big one will be in February
This is constantly in my mind. I wish they would at least give us some time lines or let you know that maybe you're on the list. Does anyone have any insider information or timelines for the next round of layoffs that they could maybe share?
