Since a whole bunch of us will be looking for a new job very soon (some are already looking, I know,) I thought this was a good read from Forbes. At least I found a couple of good suggestions in here.

If you’re over the age of 50, the way to game the system is to take a page from the handbook of recent immigrants.
Take a job Millennials detest, think is beneath them, involves physical labor, or that they will not do for whatever reason.
Once you’re no longer competing against youth, you’re free!
It depends on your field. In mine everyone is half my age that is all they are hiring so at 40 I’m don’t and at 30 others would have a hard time getting a job. When I started everyone was 50+ But as I got older they did too and now there is just a huge age gap.
So to a different field I go somewhere.
Start your own business
Over 50 and I have several leads to jobs with the same pay. The Jobs are out there it just depends on your area.
The only reality now is whether you are over 50 or not.
Under 50, you will likely find a lower paying job.
Over 50, forget it, you're done.
