When friends ask me “How is work”? I reply “I work at Wells Fargo. For now”. What else is there to say? Everyone knows what that means.
They’re closing the little branch in my neighborhood. The one where people who have done business for 30 years still walk in because they consider the employees friends. Nobody is upset by the loss of convenience. They’re upset because their friends are losing their jobs.
I don’t work there. I don’t have a customer-facing job. I go to work and everyone who doesn’t go out drinking with the group director is trying to figure out what to do next. I go to my local coffee shop and the talk is all about friends and neighbors who are losing their Jobs at Wells Fargo.
And Tim Sloan deals himself another $35 million in stock options for the year.
But hey, WF did donation a few new winter coats, so let’s talk about what good corporate citizens they are, shall we?
