It looks a though the company leadership is a little overconfident about the Time Warner deal not being overturned. In fact, they are overconfident to a point that they see no problem with creating bad publicity on purpose. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t a big fan of the TW acquisition in the first place, but now that it’s happened, I can’t even think of the negative consequences if it got overturned. This dispute with Dish shouldn’t have happened in the first place, and now that it has happened it had to be dealt with much sooner. Every day that this continues is a day in which the DOJ finds more cause for the overturn of the TW deal.

Dude dish is notorious for disputes that lead to networks going dark. Almost every network has gone thru this with dish. Sh-- when abc wouldn’t budge and it was going to go dark dish offered to send it’s customers antennas so they can get the abc affiliates for free lol.

Here is T's incompetence proof, the golf event was supposed to showcase AT&T’s media prowess following its $85 billion purchase of Time Warner Inc., the owner of HBO, Warner Bros. and Turner.
AT&T now said they’d issue refunds to customers who paid to watch the match. There weren’t reports of problems for telecasts on cable and satellite TV.

The DOJ is never going to unwind the TW/ATT merger. American politics works like pro wrestling. This is just another angle to keep the marks believing that their votes count and corporate America isn't really pulling the strings. You know it's true.
Dude, you need to do some research. Dish is a tough negotiator, plus they opposed the TW deal ,so they have great incentives to do what they can to overturn it, F*** their customers in the meantime is no big deal to them. I have been following gDish for a while and they are a terrible company. Not defending ATT here. We wil see if the appellate court will put much stock into it. Dish is gambling with its customers on that. BTW Dish lost customer last quarter.
