It’s just another android box. That’s right the fabled iptv box is just another android box like a fire stick and others but with a modified menu for T, it even has the google play store and you’ll be able to download Netflix too just like those other devices. Innovation!
AT&T doesn't make it's own phones. Why would it make it's own streaming video box?
I see this c-ap, on a daily basis. At&t really does have a dearth of experienced and qualified individuals that could help right this ship. But upper management is determined to follow their own plan, of being media moguls. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN. The network is shiittt. Lots of shiny content, with no real plan to deliver it RELIABLY on anything approaching a large scale.

I told Stankey in an email a few ago to move the delivery platform to a small, IoT box with other features. No dice. Then there was a rush to push out the Direct TV OTT app, but it failed in trying to catch up with the rest of the world. Maybe the AT&T leadership is so holed up in their acoustically & video-perfect mega-buck entertainment caves that they just couldn't see how people wanted light weight inexpensive portable media solutions. Too late $T. Buying over-the-hill HBO/Time Warner assets won't save the ship, either.

It is amazing that even with AT&T Labs and the Foundry they were unable to come up with something that could even come close to rivaling what already exists. Looks like all the talk about how innovative the people are at AT&T was a bunch of BS. Now we see the ramifications of cutting too deep the number of employees with all the experience. The best idea that comes out currently is to use a box someone else developed and just modify it to display your name and logo that is genius.

AndriodTV is pretty dope, I doubt this hardware will be up to par with other units like the nvidia shield.
If at&t went balls to the wall with it, and actually had a unit produced that was powerful and outperformed the shield people would hope on that just for the hardware alone,
Overall, AT&T is an undervalued (22% discount to fair value) and low-risk turnaround story, that at the very least will pay you handsomely to wait for management to finally deliver on its promises.
However, CEO Randall Stephenson's track record on acquisitions and execution is objectively poor at best, meaning that I am increasingly skeptical of AT&T becoming a market-beating high-yield stock.
May be T does not know, that there are hundreds of Apps providing free a low sunscription programming?, I need to get in Randall's team, maybe no one knows, lol

Yep, off the shelf android box tweaked so that instead of booting to the google tv menu it boots up directly to the direct live streami but you can then exit to the menu and select another streaming app like every box already on the market. How long until everyone loads Kodi, terrarium and show box on these and cancels dtv? Lol
So essentially it's an off-the-shelf box with a UI that can be customized so it doesn't look ike one to the user. Maybe they've finally figured out that they s--- at technology and can't build anything on their own that actually works. That's a major step forward for AT&T's "leadership."
