An emergency meeting is a good thing! It means they need to come up with some idea's to stop the bleed, hopefully. The realists in mean says this is all part of the plan nd always has been. Stocks drop and the lay offs are announced. The dividend payout was the first clue, the $1,000 tax bonus was #2, and stock drop is #3, This is AT&T tradition. Also, if you go back in history AT&T has always bought media/cable companies & dissected them only to fail horribly. Let's hope Time Warner doesn't let that happen. They don't want anything but the content, not the operating expenses. Let's talk about strategies. AT&T is notorious for sending work overseas so if your not part of a local broadcasting network, your job is at risk. If you have a desk job not contributing to selling or dealing with financial growth, your at risk. If your job can be mechanized, your at risk. My guess is time warner employees will feel the grunt of what AT&T is capable of doing, putting hard working Americans out on the street. Let's face it, isn't that how America operates now? It's the nature of the beast. I do find it hard to believe anything the company says to be truthful, especially After the sbc/at&t merger. It was stated Randall Stevens was NOT going to take over after the name change by December it was announced. I think it's sad how the company thinks it's ok to lie to employees and customers REGULARLY & expect anyone to trust them. If there were any other company hiring that gave good benefits & paid as good, no one would work for AT&T. Not to many choices, even for customers so we all have to deal with the brutal truth and hope fore the best outcome. I just hope this merger with Time Warner proves success so we can all prosper & continue to grow. God speed everyone
