Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Unlicensed District Leaders must go...

Company making a huge mistake by assigning unlicensed district leaders for a pharmacy based healthcare company. These so called “leaders” don’t know what goes into being a pharmacist and operating as one in today’s environment. If you want to run a healthcare company it has to be start with healthcare professionals across the board who speak the same language as you and can understand and set realistic expectations. I had a district leader tell me that looking over and addressing DURs does not take and should not take longer than 10 seconds. Can’t have such ignorant people Managing.

My boss . My friend looked me straight in the eyes and had to offer me severance last year. People will be forced to turn on each other , there is no other way to handle this. Loyal tenured people will be gone for good

I do not know what you are smoking mba! Untrained shift supervisors have been promoted to run stores and are doing well. Just out of high school. Larry Merlo nnounced today front store sales are no longer important to the new business model. You will have a very hard time finding another job using your experience at this company as a gage. You will be lucky to find a dept lead job. You will soon find out your time here was a waste and will do you no good in the work place. Managers from this company are not respected for their skill set in the retail industry. You are a joke

Seems to me that NO ONE on this entire thread has the slightest clue of what Pharmacists or Store Managers ACTUALLY DO!!! PHARMACISTS SAVE LIVES!! THEY TAKE CARE OF PATIENTS. STORE MANAGERS ARE THE BUSINESS END taking care of things such as OSHA , ADA, HR ISSUES , BUSINESS LAW ETC ETC. BOTH ARE HIGHLY SKILLED AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL JOBS !! YOU NEED PHARMACISTS TO KEEP PEOPLE ALIVE. YOU NEED STORE MANAGERS TO KEEP THE COMPANY COMPLIANT WITH ALL THE LAWS THAT COMPANIES THIS SIZE MUST FOLLOW. BOTH JOBS ARE RESPECTED. AND MANY OF US STORE MANAGERS HAVE MBAS SO WE HAVE OUR EDUCATION AS WELL AND DO WHAT WE LOVE ALSO. IT TAKES BOTH TO OPERATE A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS. CANT WE JUST BE GLAD THAT WE ARE ALL EMPLOYED AND HAVE A GOOD JOB? WE DO NOT NEED TO FEED EACH OTHER TO THE WOLVES. I CANNOT BE A PHARMACIST UNLESS I GO TO PHARMACY SCHOOL. A PHARMACIST DOES NOT HAVE TIME TO MANAGE A STORE. THEY DID NOT GO TO PHARMACY SCHOOL TO RUN A CASH REGISTER AND HIRE PEOPLE ETC. IN TURN I DID NOT GET MY MBA TO WANT TO BE A DOCTOR. BOTH DESERVE RESPECT. EVERYTHING ELSE IS WHAT IT IS.

Of course you wouldn’t be a successful pharmacist you f--- tard you need a education lol Anyone can do a FS manager job, don’t get it twisted. Maybe yall could be like the WM greeters at the door once Aetna takes place and fs is gone.

Keep telling yourself how important you FS managers are. Remember when assistant managers thought they were important? Where is that position now? You guys are done and I am so happy you f---ing losers.

So let's drop this bashing

Only someone who has never done the job could say just get better at it or s--- it up. It is because our Pharmacists (and Techs) are amazing at their jobs that more patients don’t get hurt by the ridiculous demands CVS makes on them.

I am not a Pharmacist or a tech, just a common sense observer.

You guys act like FS is rocket science. All you literally need to do is just make the f---ing FS look presentable and most stores I go to can’t even do that. All FS managers want to do is hang out in the office or go down some aisle for hours. Pharmacist have to be in there listening to sh-- all day. Don’t tell me for a second FS is even close to RX lmao FS is cake, thats why you get paid like a $2 h--ker you worthless little sh--s. Try DUR’s and double verification. You f---ing r----ds can’t even set planos right lmaooo. GTFO of here and go grab the truck losers.

Ok you super bright front store group. I challenge you to list 10 name brand d--gs and their generic equal and what dangers are associated with each d--g and their medicinal properties. I have to know 100s of such things, you just need to know how to unload trucks and put it on the shelf in the right spot, which seems to be a challenge in every store I go into. Yes you are not important to the future of our health care company and will soon find that to be true. It makes me sick to have to take directions from a SM. Payback is on its way!

I went to school to be a pharmacist so that J could demand high wages and short work weeks, this is the American dream. All FS workers seem to want to blame us for your bad decision to unload and work trucks all your life. I believe in enjoying my life with my family, you seem to think because you have to work longer and harder for half my pay it is my fault for making better decisions. So put your shampoo and detergent on the shelf because that is what you chose to do in life as a career , Fs people lack class and education . I am asked what can I do to remain healthy you are asked do you have anymore apple flavored shampoo in the back room. So you Fs people are not important to our future of health services. Cold hard truth.

My Rx sales 6 million , FS sales 895,000 with 250,000 each year in markdowns. All I do is run a register all day cause I can never t leave the front. Most time I just stand there doing nothing because I have no customers. Yet I should be in charge? This sh-- is messed up. Rx must be the reason I open the doors, this should be clear if you know how to read p and L

Losers out here talking sh-- as if they are relevant. Company is at the highest level it’s ever Been as a healthcare company as of Wednesday . Y’all dumb--ses don’t understand that your jobs of stocking the shelves are close to gone. The stores will not have as much merchandise and more health services. What can you possibly contribute to that? If it wasn’t for pharmacy your store would be in the negative cuz ur a convenience store that’s fighting a war with the likes of amazon and Walmart..and you have no shot. HEALTHCARE company..remember that...you bring nothing.

For the Pharmacist that thinks they work harder than the FS manager:

In my store you are right. My RX manager works harder than me. I am scheduled for 45hrs usually do 32-38 a week. Job is easy and I get paid $41/hr to stock shelves and ring a register.

ALSO: RX busted their butts last year. 5,000 script store, 9% over mcp. Made me a $21,000 bonus. Unfortunately my RX manager got less than $3,000.

To all of you hard working RX managers keep busting butt because the SM really enjoys that fat March bonus that is mostly rx driven....lol what a country!!

For those arguing, you do know that pharmacy encompasses 70% of the profits while only holding 15-20% of the retail sq footage space in any given location. You do realize many of your FS aisles will be consolidated/removed and replaced with other healthcare services. Let’s cut the BS and understand the company’s path rather than argue who has the harder job. CVS Health....

News flash.. this company isn't FS vs RX. Its dominated by the PBM. As a pharmacist I would've assumed you would have a clue about that... I guess you also can't read a P&L or understand the companies business model

I guess I need to put you GE MF’s back in check. Pharmacists work much harder than SM’s. The job is both mental and physical, try checking off all these scripts with the phone ringing all day, consults, countless metrics. We don’t ever get a break from customers. You on the other hand get a office to go circle jerk with the rest of your sh--ty supervisors who will be paycheck to paycheck. You get to run off in the aisles and boh again no customers hounding you. Theres a reason your job will be GONE soon. Worthless pricks. This company really is Pharmacists vs Front store and we know who will win, the side that does 90% of the buisness. Go shine up your resume and profiles you sh*t heads.

Every store manager I know works more hours than their pharmacist counterpart. Our base hours is 45 by the way, not 40. The pm at my store has a base of only 42 and wines and moans if they have to work any extra. Pharmacists are such babies. Sh--ty work ethic

Pharmacists are the future leaders so get use to that fact. People that call a 40 hour work week a hard week with 3 days off each week. If you work hard for this company and expect a reward of promotion you are a fool

At the end of the day it should just be the best candidate for the position. Sometimes it’s going to be a former pharmacist, sometimes a store manager. The positions are very different and neither one can understand the pressures and challenges of the other. Burning a bridge with your counterpart will only make your life harder.
