Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Flawed HR policies

6 years ago my team was a lean organization, we executed on our goals and achieved them(Lowell said "Sankar you are inheriting a Ferrari" if you doubt it pull up the video). Now we have a useless CIO who came from Wire-line, which was so bloated that , to justify their size they made sure that same HR policies were implemented across the Wireless IT organizations. Now teams on wireless side are also bloated. Now they want to cut down the teams to meet that 10 billion savings goal. Now this fellow thinks he can run this better if he pulls his old buddies up and ditch all the Wireless leaders. Who ever is making up these HR polices ought to be let go and sued..

Think that @W93bTJm-1isx is on point, so I reposted his post

When our CIO speaks, my only wish is that Verizon would provide translation services for native English speakers. I can't tell if he is making sense or not when he drifts away from English and into an unintelligible murmur when he gets excited. :(

If nothing else I have seen real issues with trying to run Wireline using Wireless policies and vice versa. They are two different type of entities.

So you mean bloat in general or management bloat?

How does one blame HR for a CIO making bloat. The CIO as you said forced it HR from what I’ve seen HR doesn’t run the joint.
