I'm craft and my entire management team put in for it. Hans is all about Verizon 2.0 so if your on the landline side of it, FIOS or not, time to leave. 5G is the future not FIOS.
OP If you are still conflicted at this point, you will regret whichever choice you make. But, if you stay, you can always leave. If you leave well, that's it.
If you have a lump sum available it will start eroding due to interest rates rising. Depending on you much your lump is worth the recent 1/4 of a point hike could cost you 3 to 4 percent off your balance. That is just for that one hike. The fed is planning on raising rates throughout 2019. You could end up loosing 10’s of thousands in a few months ultimately costing you more than it is worth to stay. For me It’s the medical that becomes very expensive for family coverage compared to what i currently pay. But I have had enough. The carot has been dangeling long enough that it would be a struggle to stay and feel good about it.
I look at it this way...if you even for a moment considered leaving, there is a good reason to do it now because of the incentive and the obvious desire to move on.
If you were completely happy, content, growing, learning, seeing a future with the direction of your current work situation etc., you would not be considering pushing the button at all.
In other words if you really want to stay long term forget about the package because it is a short term vessel to get you to your next destination.

If you are in a key hub location then there could be opportunities to come out of the fire unscathed. If you are not in a key location, risky proposition to stick around and hope for the best.
Do you like your current job? Staying is not necessarily a dead end. Opportunities will almost certainly be created by the short term chaos. It's not as much doom and gloom as some might have you believe.

Nicely said "ajr". Just gave me a thought. The VSP package is worth more than 10 times what my annual salary was when I started with Vz. Back then that would be like getting 10 years worth of pay to go away. Can we turn back time and have the money too? LOL
When your employer is willing to pay you to leave that's a pretty strong signal that your days are numbered. If you take control of your career - meaning you do what it takes to get confident, polish up your resume, work on your interviewing skills - you will feel much better and it will show when you look for your next job. VZ was not my first employer and is not going to be my last. I already have two interviews scheduled and both companies seem very happy and interested in meeting with me! I wish VZ and those that remain all the best, there's no hard feelings, I'll gladly take my VSP payment and look forward to contributing my efforts to my next employer.
