More from the Dinosaur Group'Dealers who do not sell mobility will soon be history': AT&T's satellite strategy is shifting after dismal quarter

Can't stop laughing.........................................................................................................................................

AT&T has made numerous changes to DirecTV dealer contracts in recent months that indicate its satellite business could be becoming less of a priority.

Full-service dealers, those who manage technical installation and sales, are now expected to sell a minimum of four cellphones a week.

The company also notified a group of dealers that their contracts would end December 1.

Comments from AT&T CFO John Stephens have also suggested DirecTV's satellite television service will eventually come to an end.

If you yahoos had not decided to kill off the Directv Field Engineers, and the In-House Software folks and switch from a stellar work order system Rio/Seibel FSTP in favor of WFE requiring 4 smartchat sessions just to say we arrived. If you didn't lie to our customers, didn't cheat them into renewed contracts, didn't force them to spend 4 hours on the phone to Cyndy Loo Hoo in Manila just to get a new remote control, then maybe, just maybe, our 20 year customers would not be dumping us to the tune of 300,000 plus every quarter.

You were never the real ATT, you were Southwest Bell who just bought the name at auction.

It shows.

It is a given, that At&t doesn't want employees. Your badges and 2020 training will not save you. It is all a ruse.

At&t does not want employees. They want to contract out, everything that they can. They will outsource everything. They don't want a real network. They want to sell targeted advertising. That is where they feel the real dollars are. Waiting to see how this all plays out.

Buy VZ stock, they’re probably going to win the 5G war. Does T survive? Yes but it’s a very murky future, T is like an oil tanker without a Captain or a rudder. Lol!

This company has so many dinosaurs in it that just the word AT&T will often incite me to think of an endless corridor of bathroom stalls as far as the eye can see.

In each of the bathroom stalls are Tyrannosaurus Rexs taking gigantic dinosaur dumps, clogging up the toilets so much that they keep having to perform an indefinite amount of courtesy flushes. The only three sounds you can hear other than thousands of toilets flushing are the thousands of T-rexs roaring at the top of their lungs, the excrement coming out of their sphincters, and the wailing of their tails against the stall walls as they struggle going back and forth between dropping their massive loads in human sized toilets and trying to flush inefficiently with their tiny little dinosaur hands.

Stephens’ comments don’t add a lot of detail beyond what AT&T disclosed during its most recent earnings call. Typical, But it does represent an acceleration in AT&T’s plans to phase out DirecTV and U-verse and replace them with an all-streaming lineup of pay TV options including DirecTV Now and WatchTV.

If the third quarter is any indication, the rate of attrition among traditional pay TV subscribers is picking up speed. Pay TV losses during the quarter total between 1.1 million and 1.2 million depending on different estimates. But analysts seem to agree that the losses were catastrophic.
