Ya think raising prices is going to combat cord cutters?

God forbid there's a decrease in revenue. Regular price adjustments will occur to keep revenue numbers on the climb. That's what the investors want to see. So if they lose 10K directv subs that revenue has to be made up somewhere. Finance and marketing glued at the hip for all this. And oh, reduction in employee's contributes to this as the overall Net numbers remain.

Agree, AT&T totally wants a sh*t load of cord cutters so they can sell them their currently reasonably priced Direct-TV Now packages , but as soon as 5G rollout is complete, they'll jack those OTA rates to current cable levels and make bank..

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I’m sure this will somehow result in layoffs to offset the revenue losses. DirecTV acquisition was a total disaster, should have just stuck with uverse and offered a streaming variation for those that are out of footprint. Think of the impeccable service they could have developed for a fraction of that $65 billion that was wasted.

AT&T wants to accelerate cord cutting. They want to shift customers to all wireless only. Don’t let them fool you. They know what they’re doing.
