Now the holidays are over the layoffs begin the first week employees return to work.

As long as you are happy with your 1% or 2% raise, why should management give you any more? They know you are comfortable and won’t do anything to change your job situation. Inflation is running hire than your merit increase which means you actually are getting paid less and less in real dollars each year you settle for a meager merit increase.

it’s the best job market in decades and reputable banks are paying top dollar for good employees. If you want a real pay raise, look across the street. I got 30% pay bump which I’m kicking myself for not looking sooner.

This year supposedly will receive the largest 'performance' increase of my decade long career here...2%...can only assume they are giving that much because they don't expect to have to pay it much longer...EIT, don't think I've ever received more than 1% before.
