Rumor has it that the Frederick site will he closing, and it will be announced next month. Does anyone think there’s any truth behind this?

And that's after consolidating the people from the other building into the main one. Where did everyone go? Just a casual walk through will tell you they definitely don't need the entire building right now.
I work in the Frederick office and let me tell you, this place is a ghost town now-a-days. It wasn't that long ago that this office was over flowing either. Team members that aren't in the building 1 day a week on average (based on them swiping their badge to get into the office), will lose their permanent desks and must use flex desks. There have been rumors of the Frederick location shutting down but that has been going on for years. Supposedly our lease here expires in either 2020 or 2022 - not sure which one is accurate. I have heard that certain LOB jobs will be either eliminated or relocated. But what about the Treasury/Finance departments? Any word on these folks' work being moved to Des Moines and/or San Antonio or even off shore?
I was in the Central FL hub and our entire site was shut down in August and all loans were sent to NC. Our former LO was from MD and the rumors are true, MD will be shutting down as well as the much bigger hubs can take on the workload.
Be prepared for bad news if you suspect you’re one of the affected. Thankfully I was able to find a job before the severance pay ended.

I heard that each line of business will start to transfer their functions that are currently in Frederick to other locations like Des Moines and San Antonio. It looks like CCRG is the first to do so this year. It won’t be long before the rest follow.

It’s true not sure on the timing but sometime in 2019
The work place consolidation has only been given for new hires to be hired into central hubs in all honesty the remote workers are far to many for them to call into the office Wells wouldn't have the space for them
Not knowing anything about the Frederick site, I can say that we've been told that locations are being consolidated and remote workers are going to be called into the office to work.
I am not the original poster of this thread but I heard this info too. I was told this several months back that Wells Fargo may be trying to move their hubs to about 3 locations with Frederick not being one of them. Plus the rent on our site expires in 2020 and Wells Fargo already had plans to cut workforce down by 10 percent. I'm just doing a wait and see for now :(
More info please. Where and who did you hear this from. Is it everybody in frederick or just some?
