I have a question - I'm pretty sure that when Randall announced the 1/3 employee reduction goal by 2020, it was 2015 and there were 280,000 employees. At Q3 2018, there were 269,000 employees, but that also included TW people. What is the true number of pre-merger non- TW employees? Just trying to figure out progress toward our goal...

In 2015, there were about 300k employees. At the time the guidance was to reduce headcount by a 1/3 or to get employees to about 200k. This was before TW merger with AT&T. Before AT&T/TW merger, headcount was about 250k with more layoffs being processed each month. So if 30k employees were added and headcount was reported as 269K. The legacy headcount would be 240k.
Based on this math, if the Legacy goal remains, there’s 40k pending reductions. Total headcount would be 230k by 2020.
I expect this number could change depending on debt load management and the ability to restructure the debt, additional competition, new innovations (or lack of), expansion of virtual workforce and automation.
Time Warner supposedly has around 30000 employees. That would mean shedding 52000 more to get to the 2/3 of 280000.
“50-100k employees will be surpluses this year or will take a package”.
No chance! I’d like to see evidence your claim has any credibility. I know I’m feeding a troll but this sort of BS needs to be called out.

I think you are too hung up on the total number. How many and if you are impacted is ultimately based on what organization you are in.
Our goal? Lol
I'm trying to separate the TW employees we have now from the "legacy" employees. Presumably in 2015, they weren't including TW in their projections. What is the true number of pre-merger non- TW employees? In Q3 2018, there were 269,000 employees - how many are non- TW? Tring to figure out how much of their goal they've yet to do. Does that make sense?
Which part of 1/3 you don't understand ?
