Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

NETFLIX is KING

And will be, for quite a while.....Stankey will apply the same creativity busting metrics that he does to T, to HBO and Time Warner. He can't help himself. Him and Stephenson are numbers guys. They will never change. What they don't realize is all this emphasis on "numbers" has created a culture of fear and bad behavior. I highly doubt that the metrics that reach their desks on a daily basis are accurate. I have seen managers tweak the spreadsheets before submitting them up the chain. Numbers are everything. (Actually nothing), But that is ALL they know. Expect to see a plethora of watered down content. "More hours a day" right? Plus regular price increases for content. They will NEVER be the "Tiffany" to Netflix's "Walmart" of content.

Yeah that comment was pretty id--tic from randall. stankey will kill creativity at time warner guaranteed. you can't tell anybody anything that doesn't admit they make mistakes.

go look at who is actually worth more tiffany's or walmart and ask yourself what stock would you buy.

randall is in love with himself and I guess he thinks he is a genius since he is on the council of foreign relations.

There just isn't money in owning a Union run network anymore. Expect to see more wireless and job reductions on the wireline side. Expect to see pension and 401k replaced by royalties in most business units.

All I see and I hope that I am wrong, is a half azzed effort on actually building a network to actually deliver all this premium content reliably.

hard to believe a company this size cant come out with an original product, a unremarkable byproduct of the busines hacks that currently are running the show, lol.

Netflix will be king until the next big idea comes through. The streaming market is becoming more and more saturated.

Remember when "managers" came around to identify the detractors via NPS? Yes, the Net Promoter Score, yet another stinking corpse in AT&T's graveyard of stupid ideas. The same mentality exists today. They have not learned, and that should be troubling.
