"Wireline" literally built this company and it is that cash that invested into wireless...So when you ask about "wireline" as if it's a different part of this company.....remember it is your DNA.

By the way....there is no such thing as "wireless communications"

In my view, the only real, up front advantage of merging wireless and wireline is how the money will be spread out. Both entities still have very diverse systems and management style. It will take a handful of years to get onto one system. Anyone care to venture how long it will take to migrate Wireless to TIRKS, WAFI or how long to migrate Wireline off of TIRKS, WAFI, etc?

What the company wants to do is to change the culture by ridding itself of the Bell minded management style. Not saying the wireless management is a big plus but still, the animosity management creates is only a hindrance to craft and getting the job done. Not that the Union could not clean up its act a bit; but bottom line is we have a Union because of the way management operates.

Merging is a minor fix to down sized management; systems and culture still will remain the same.
