Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

High debt concerns investors more and more

Mark my words this debt problem is a disaster waiting to happen. I generally don't care much about the concerns of shareholders, but the fact is that the only reason why this hasn't become a problem already is that company generates a good amount of revenue resulting in good free cash flow. But for how long? AT&T put all of its eggs in one basket, betting on the streaming service and 5G. What’s going to happen if the streaming service doesn’t turn out to be the golden goose that everyone it would be? We all know that it will take a couple of years for 5G revenue to start seriously pouring in. These are some dangerous times that we are heading towards.

OP, I agree with some of your concerns but then I ask the question, as Wall St. analysts are raising their ratings on AT&T, across the board (not necessarily just to "Buy,") what do they know that us laymen don’t?

These analysts were doing this many weeks before the market was plummeting and T was heading down under $30. And T will not live or die on just 5G or streaming. They were fully aware of an impending dividend hike and the reliable ‘Cash Flow’ each and every quarter.

Maybe they believe T’s merger will be an ‘old fashion, hit the ground running, not missing a beat, dollar for dollar’ immediate payoff. I guess in 30 days we’ll know....I’m just making my own guess as well, their 4th Qtr report will say it, because after all, I’m no analyst!
