Heard this yesterday, but I'm having hard time believing it. Any chance it's true?
I personally doubt AT&T would wait a full month before more cuts. From where I'm standing, unless something extraordinary happens, we'll be seeing continuous cuts for years. Maybe not huge, but constant.
managers, prem techs and direct tv will go first , cable splicers want a severance but no one else can perform all the work tasks A to Z so the Gen X and the older techs are stuck doing the impossible . both suffering for different reasons. its hard work for older techs waiting for a buyout and younger techs are suffering from over work and an unsecure future.

Both AT&T Business and AT&T Digital, Retail, and Care "surplussed" non-union employees in December. Rumor is ATO will "surplus" employees in January.

Yes, the layoffs announced Dec 14th will have an off-payroll date in February for the majority of the positions being eliminated.
I have heard of nobody receiving an off role notification of 12/31. Employees or contractors. Maybe they are in India?
As always, it depends on your organization. Our announcements will come in January but LDOP is in March. Others got notice in December, so it really depends on your organization.
