LP Funding Cut

Looks like the LP department has had a massive funding cut.

Changed coming to position soon around February.

To my knowledge no one has gotten the official invite to a call but was told one was coming for Friday. And if we could not work on that day we could take it from home. Whatever it is, it’s getting announced regardless if we work or not, I’m guessing since it’s the last day of the fiscal month. We can’t honestly think we as a group are not going to be touched after all these other changes are about to happen this coming fiscal year. It was only a matter of time.

If any of it was a good thing, they would be going on about “exciting new changes” or something. They have been going on about all the other positions they are adding, how happy everyone is about it. No one is talking about how they will pay for them. I just hope they give us some notice like they did for the HRs. Good luck to everyone.

Our schedule was changed for this week but it was spun as somewhat of a favor so that we could have the holidays off. Still have not heard of any type of conference call or meeting on the 4th. Has anyone actually got an invite to a conference call or meeting on the 4th? If so, who sent it? (Regional, lposm, etc)???

Maybe we need a middle end.

I heard LP is getting cut back in most stores. They'll have some district/regional "investigation" teams that go where the theft is going like Target does. New District Operations Managers (DOM) will replace LPOSM, correcting the error of the past administration when they let AOMs go. These new positions will be focused on night/back end/front end operations, coaching, auditing, and visiting SMs and ASM-Ops on all these areas. The investigations side of LP will be separate and have their own leadership Just like Marv did at Target.

You're really going to kill all the LP egos around here with that kind of talk. Saying they might report to an ASM makes them all have to admit they aren't ASMs already. That being said, the ASM-Ops already has a front end, back end, and overnight DS to supervise. What would an "operations" DS do that was different than what those three were already doing?

Operations Department Supervisor? Wow, where do I sign up for that? lol

Region 5 here. We also were asked to change our schedule and work on Friday the 4th. A LPOSM in market 0883 confirmed a conference call on Friday but not has not yet sent out any email calendar invites.

If i was to bet i would say LPM's will become operations department supervisors. S09 (same as service managers)pay scale and report to the operations ASM with a 40hr work week.

I know of 3 markets from 2 different regions that had schedule changes to work this Friday.

Seriously, nobody has heard for sure what is going to happen Friday. With a group of LP’s I find that hard to believe.

Team, I just got 100% confirmation something is going down Friday. I don't know exactly what, but it's not going to be good. Good luck to you all.

I have a feeling we will get an email early friday to jump on a conference call.

We got the e-mail before Christmas. It was sloppy and clearly shows the same pattern as the previous layoffs or "realignments". What you will learn on Friday is that they've known at least a month and that your supervisor isn't as honest a you think she is.

Has anyone’s LPSOM actually informed anyone of a conference call or meeting this Friday? Asking for a friend.

Although I agree, rumors are not helpful and please dont make people panic, I disagree that the highest paid wouldn’t be the first to go in a layoff. One of the 2 managers let go in my store in 2017 was the highest paid because he had been around for so long. He was def not a high performer. And fyi, the other was the newset. So, idk. Could be possible.

"Have the heard the newest highest paid and newest are first to go?" That's laughable. Considering the highest paid are more than likely the top performers with the most experience. Also I would assume if they do head count reduction there will be an interview process for the ones wanting to stay for the new staffing model. No point in dropping rumors to get more people panicked.

Im hearing a 50% reduction, with a few LPSMs remaining as multi store for 3-5 stores, and a few LPSs to babysit some of the level 3/4 stores. Level 1/2 wont have anybody, level 5/6 will have a dedicated single store LPSM. Im also hearing the highest paid, and newest LPs will be the first to go.

From what I hear the 4th is the big day for all or most of the changes taking place. Not just LP but the PSE/PSI program. Next week may be the week they roll out the new store model. Good luck everyone.

I've been in LP for years, I can run several stores easy. Lp's worth a damn are never in their own stores now anyway.

From what Ive heard is that there will be a conference call on Fri. Some markets are choosing to have all their LPs go to one store to be on the call. Others will have the SM and/or HR sit with the LP to be on the call in their store. That was the same thing they did when they laid off the assistant managers a couple years ago. At least in my market.

Its true we can’t control what decisions have already been made. But when a job you depend on is threatened, I’d rather be prepared for the worst instead of sticking my head in the sand. We are probably the last major retailer in the country that hasnt cut LP back. How much longer do you think that will last? And if you say “then go look for another job”, please, tell me what job is that? Who is hiring LP managers?

Each year the 40hr week thing is spewed. The "we're getting laid off" is running rampant."They're taking away the operations portion" Keep in mind LP is the only business group actually pulling their numbers. Without solid proof. Who are we to speculate? Isn't our job, "if you didn't see it it didn't happen?" Worry about the things you can control and don't worry about the things we can not control. There are things which I've heard but will not share online because they are speculation. Just be on that call on the 4th and move into our new evolved roles and be happy...or find a different place to work. The choice is all yours.

Its not about working that week. Its about working that friday we are off. Something is going on. I get an uneasy feeling when they seem to be telling all LPs to work on a day that we are off. Only reason for that would mean there is prob going to be a conference call done at the same time across the country...prob with each region.

So much for transparency..we were told not to work the weekend and to be in store Monday the 31st thru Friday the 4th...Why?? What is going down that we need to be in store this upcoming week?? I'd be nice if they could just say what is going to happen...Get it over with without us all having to speculate and wonder if we're going to be unemployed, a reduction in pay, change in duties, responsibilities, role change etc...Just please get this over with already...

Does anyone have any idea why we're required to be in store this week Monday thru Friday?

“National LPSM Call Out Day” is January 4th 2019.

Where are all the LPs at?

Yeah, no way in hell an LPSM will take an $11k pay cut to go to 40hrs. Then the job is definitely not worth the pay. Might as well keep the extra 8. So I guess that's the question. How do you pay them what they make now and drop them to 40hrs, IF that's what they do.

Reducing to 40 and taking away OT would be a significant wage loss for LPs throughout the company.$10k-15k loss.

I've been in LP for a while and while I don't have any solid info to convey I can say that I have a very uneasy feeling about the future of this department. We can all rationalize our position, as we are the only ones that realize the contribution, but few others do. Polish your resumes and start looking now, I am.
