Looks like the LP department has had a massive funding cut.

Changed coming to position soon around February.

PSIs have all been told they MUST be in meeting on Friday, even if they must reschedule appointments. Any word?

I know for a fact all risk level 5 and 6 LPSM are safe risk level 4 and below are the ones being impacted no word yet on whether or not new positions will be made or what about 2 months ago a position was posted for a online fraud investigator that was never filled and based on Marvin’s track record with target penny and depot we will transition to asset protection instead of loss prevention. And also changes for LPOSM’s are being rolled out as well

My SM has a call Thurs too. Same as before, Regional rolls to Area. Area rolls to SM, SM rolls to everyone else. So sounds like the Areas should at least know by now today. Which would explain why my Area isnt responding to anything.

I was told months ago we would be “Asset Protection “ like all other retailers. But if Marv does it like Target, we will be out on the floor as coverage stocking items and trying to catch shoplifters in the process And very little else. And there will be some market trainer types that would float from store to store to help with bigger cases or internals.

Yes its all speculation, but thats why we are here.

To the guy wanting a link for the severance. It's under HR POLICIES, and Code of Business on the left hand side. If I wasn't home I could give you more. But the policy isnt too hard to find in lowesnet

The people that are fueling this post should find something better to do than gossip. From what I'm reading the comments on here are all speculation with no substance. This is all hearsay. This entire thread is driving people crazy wondering. We had an old saying where I'm from. "You never know, until you know". Most people on here are posting things to sound important. I have something solid for all of you on here. Tomorrow is Thursday. If you don't believe me locate a calendar. You can Verify my statement. .

Only thing I I’ve heard is a change from loss prevention to asset protection or something along those lines. Marvin also said in his town all he wants us to have a more clearly defined role that focuses on shrink and safety

LPSM for over 5 years checking in from Region 6

I know that it's hard to believe some of the things we hear on here. So I'll confirm what I've been told

  1. My market's schedule was changed for us to work this Friday. No specific reason was given.

  2. A store manager told me that there's a store manager conference call scheduled for 1/3. SM's dont know what the call is about but they do know it's confidental information. The store manager that told me about the meeting stated that any major changes in the store's are told to the SM's first then related to the people that it will directly impact.

So I do believe most of what I'm reading here...change is coming for the LP personnel.

Still no word on a Friday conf call or being required to work that day

The only thing I have heard for LP in 2019 was title changes for LPM’s & LPOSM’s. Also less responsibility with operations for LPM’s and more focused on just shrink & safety. That was back a few months ago - no recent information.

Mandatory store manager conference call tomorrow morning (on their scheduled day off), Both HR and Store Manager required to work on Friday. Not sure what that means, but news is definitely coming. If it was good news, we probably would have heard it by now.

Please post a link showing where hourly LP employees were added to the severance policy. You can do a screenshot or post the pdf somewhere. Whichever floats your boat. People need to see proof if you’re going to promise a lifeline like that. I can’t picture a severance policy where they would give LP severance, but not add SSMs. That’s a really weird exception to make for only one group of hourly employees. I wonder if people misread it, and it really means hourly LP staff at the CSC like refund admin and other people in that group.

If layoffs are coming with LP, I wonder if this is only in certain regions and not the entire corporation?

A lot of speculation. Tomorrow should answer most questions. If it goes how most feel, good luck and hope you are able to provide for your flocks.

There is a new Severance Plan effective 1/16/17 listing LP's as an eligible party

Also not necessarily their eligibility for severance pay. In Stores and DCs, you must be a full-time SALARIED employee, serving in a supervisory capacity, to qualify for severance. This is exactly why the Department Managers didn't qualify.

It's right here in black and white:

Leadership at the store level is broken down into 3 levels on the org chart, level 1 being store manager, level 2 being ASM, LP and Safety managers, and HR managers (prior to restructure), and level 3 being hourly service/support managers. What is meant by ASM's and LPSM's being at the same level is in terms of roughly similar pay scale, not necessarily their direct responsibility for managing people.

Can someone please tell me what “ASM level” means? Are LP Mgrs salaried? No. Do LPMs directly supervise/manage any employees? No. Do they write reviews, corrective actions, make hiring decisions, etc? No.

So if by “same level as ASMs” you just mean, no one in the store but the SM really tells them what to do, you’re absolutely right. Other than that, they have less management responsibility than a SSM.

Not to continue the back and forth but yes, LPMs are at ASM level. Used to be salary but were switched to hourly following a lawsuit. LPMs are also eligible for severance should it ever come to that, but I doubt it will.

District Hr, District LP and District Op are meeting, all top secret. Store Managers conference call tomorrow and all Store Managers have to be in the store Friday, does not matter if they are on Vacation or not! So Friday looks like the day! Maybe give us some time,HR got 6 months. Too much stress, tell us already.

Csa5 is a temp position. If offered csa5 we would be in a vest doing whatever management wants us to do within the store. Once placed in csa5 you have 1 year to quit or find another position or they let you go. At that time you may get unemployment. You will keep your same pay without OT.

I’ve literally been a LPM for Lowe’s for since 10/31/18. What is a CSA5? I have no clue what’s gonna happen as other have said.

LPM are not the same level as asm lol. We are hourly managers. We would not get a severance. We can only hope they make us csa5 until we find a position within a year.

So if LPSM's are same level as ASM, would that not make this situation the same as happened to ASM? Same level?

The previous comment of “LPSM’s NOT being the same level as an ASM” is incorrect. If you look at the corporate chart - LPSM is listed on the same level as an ASM. We have a chart in our training room and it shows LPSM on the same level as an ASM.

Store managers have a mandatory call at 11am tomorrow. That's most SMs day off. Prevailing theory is they're going to hear whatever the LPs are getting told Friday.

We were asked by our LPOSM to work 7am-5pm on Friday the 4th. No official announcement of a conference call/meeting yet. My LPOSM is just returning from vacation today though, so we are expecting something soon.

It’s Wednesday and still no official announcement about any conference call or meeting on Friday the 4th. Due to the abundance of conflicting stories and assumptions, I’m beginning to wonder if this entire topic wasn’t just gossip that got blown out of proportion.

I’m not wishing anything negative on the LPs. I’ve known some good ones. But can’t help but LOL at all the downvoted on the comments that don’t stroke their d---s. LP is not an ASM level position at Lowe’s. It never has been. Never will be. Only other LPs fill each other’s heads with that BS. No one in the stores takes the position that seriously. The fact you all think the ASM level is that great proves you aren’t there yet. When you actually get there some day, you’ll see it’s nothing special and not all powerful as you seem to think lol.
