Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

No bailout for att

With the recent stock drops putting att on edge, somehow I suspect the word bailout might appear in the future and my opinion is that they dug their grave, let them die in it. What's yours?

Yield hunters are starting to salivate over AT&T. With Thursday’s breakdown to a new 52-week low, the telecom titan’s dividend yield sailed past the 7% threshold.

But while the potential income is mouthwatering, the company’s price action leaves much to be desired. Its year-to-date losses have now grown to 26%, and it remains below descending 200-day, 50-day, and 20-day moving averages.

On the options trading front, calls won

Why bailout? Let the people foolish enough to invest in $180B of AT&T bonds eat their losses if they don't get out in time. Well, I'm sure there's a massive amount of credit insurance involved that probably will get bailed out. With the fed funds rate rising, things will get ugly fast for the death star as they've got a lot of debt to roll over in the next couple of years, much of which was already at not great rates. Even bonds they're locking in at 50 years aren't offering much relief now, and with 5G coming down, they've got a lot of infrastructure spending coming up too. $300B is an amazing amount of liability against $6B of annual free cash flow. When the fall comes, it's going to look like Greece, Venezuela, or Sears.

Just in time for a Christmas Poem:

AT&T Steadfast to an early grave (Let them rot!)

Deals with the Devil, there's no second best

It's in my nature to say f--- the rest

Ever thought AT&T stock will be crashing down?

Man, people were talking all around

b--tards, paradise, true the bargain was made

Full thrust, enticed to an early grave

CWA Deals were struck late into a cold winter's eve

The table was set, laid out for the feast

Let them f---ing rot!

Let 'em rot

Secure and hold fast, before you lose control

Head on the heartache

Beware of the promises made

Head on the heartache

Steadfast on an early grave for sure (Let them rot!), and no BAILOUT, LOL
