Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Any chance this is true?

With almost a 1/4 of those offered the package taking it I really doubt Verizon is going to do any layoffs soon. Had the take rate been lower then maybe there would be layoffs.

From what I have seen it will take a while for the dust to settle after all these people leaving.

I thought they expected more people to accept? Can this be true?

Even with all the turn over there are still wastes of space collecting a check while working part time

I have a coworker that sells real estate with half their day, they are sleeping with their boss so nobody can say anything. she wins all the awards too

More than 25% opted in; 10% of those who opted in are hostages until the next evolution.

With Hans and his track record you really don’t know if logic like this will prevail.

Even if they got the numbers that doesn’t mean they got them in the right place.

In my experience they don’t retrain or reallocate they RIF and then hire someone new if some mystical legally defendable threshold is reached.

they are essentially merging two companies into one. The cuts will keep coming once the new org is announced in april.

They have a stated $10B cost cutting goal. They're only getting started.
