I don't see VZ ditching wireline entirely, but FiOS and copper to mass markets is something I can see them getting out of.

Imagine them spinning off a company to manage the end consumer last mile part of the business, with them having a long term contact to use VZ long haul and wirecenters as their supplier. All the union employees and much of the pension responsibility goes to Newco and then VZW no longer has to worry about competing against VZ landline. VZ would retain the corporate accounts, backhaul, longhaul, basicall all the network minus FiOS's PON.

most direct leadership has given up with all the HQ road blocks

moral is so low I expect Verizon to have a worse network than sprint by 2024

Everything that made Verizon great has been discarded. Employee's are no longer considered assets but centers of cost

If they make more cuts from the same pool where around 1/4 of those offered were accepted then I wonder how the work is going to get done? You rarely see streamlining/elimination to only necessary work.

Vz will survive Hans, but it will be a rough ride until they send him packing. Layoffs, of course there are more to come. I think the company work force will be near 100k when it's all said and done. VZB will be gone along with the wireline business.

If Hans does the same thing to Verizon as he did to Ericsson, expect Verizon to have around 65 to 70,000 employees within a couple of years.

I heard there was going to be an eisp for associates, followed by a second VSP for management, then a rif. Don’t have proof, just a rumor, so take it for what it’s worth.
