New Health Insurance for 2019 - good, or no?

What is your opinion on the new Health Insurance plans for 2019? Better, worse, same?

They didn’t fully switch in Iowa. You had several choices, tier level coverage and/or Aetna which you have to only be part of Mercy’s doctor care. I don’t like Mercy so I stayed with UHC. Our new benefits though, is pretty bad.

For what it's worth, my doctor's office said Aetna is better than United Healthcare.

since WF funded HRA is going away, we are considering moving over to my wife's plan. The deductibles are slightly higher, but without HRA it doesn't even matter and the coverage seems to be less expensive, and it's still with UHC vs Aetna...even for a less than 50 person employer. WF is totally trying to screw their employees with this. Tim Sloan got a 36% pay raise in 2018, $17 million....let that sink in.

these new benefits really aren't competetive with other large companies. WF used to have above average benefits, now they are behind. I bet there is no profit share this year either.

Ya when I reviewed the new plans I wondered if the higher costs where managements way of trying to get people to quit. Would save a lot on severance.

How much did the deductible and out of pocket increase?

what's the point of HRA dollars if you can't use them to cover co-pays?

They're cutting every expense they can find I see. What's next employees bringing their own toilet paper?

oh yeah, the co-pays went WAY up....even a regular doctors office visit is like $35 now! I can probably find a walk-in place for close to that. Wells Fargo, always taking care of their employees first.

The new plans are awful. The Hra out of pocket is $8,000. Much worse than companies my friends work for. This company could have done much better but employees are Not a priority. Just another reason for disappointment.

Ditto -- HRA took a major hit. In addition, there are copays for everything now (even pr-scrip-ions!) and you can't use health/wellness dollars to cover copay expenses. Ridiculous. For example, every maternity appt. would require a copay... that really adds up, especially when HRA wellness dollars can't be used to cover the mounting copay costs.

And you're trapped if you have a lot of carryover HRA dollars, because you'd lose them if you switch to different plan. That on top of no company contribution anymore is awful. Talk about bait and switch.

WF is cutting costs EVERYWHERE. Scary times.

switched everything from UHC to Aetna - got rid of the HRA funded by Wells Fargo from what I can tell...not a fan.
