Rebranding Oath into Verizon Media Group

I figured that some sort of rebranding would eventually take place after the company admitted that Oath is very far from reaching it’s targeted numbers. What’s going to happen with this transition from Oath to VMG is yet to be seen, but the fact is that branding was least of the problems at Oath. If the fundamental way of doing business is not changed and the company doesn’t come back in touch with reality, sad to say that little good can come from this.

All the senior managers who supported these dopey acquisitions should be held accountable. There was certainly more than one or two executive sponsors that pitched the acquisition of this useless piece of C-ap. That Marketing guy must have raised his hand for this transaction to keep himself employed. That should be evaluated too and if so, he should be sent out the rear door.

All of Yahoo and AOL's money was in Search and Auctions. It was never in content. That's why the acquisitions were doomed to be a $9B sinkhole from the get go. All that's left is the debt used to fund the stupidity.
