Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

January layoffs?

My department has already been decimated in the previous layoff rounds, and now I'm hearing more of the same can be expected sometime in January.

Anybody here knows if this is true?

I'm honestly not sure how we'll be able to continue to function if any more people are laid off.

Field Quality Engineers and Supplier Development Engineers who have been traditionally and sensibly located regionally around the USA and the rest of the world near the many, many suppliers. Many of this people are within driving distances of key suppliers who they know well. Important people for ensuring quality and timely delivery. Many details that can only be reviewed and resolved by visiting the supplier. Insanely stupid idea that will inevitably lead to more problems that slow down deliveries.

FQE and SDEs who are not moving to a HUB are being RIFed in Feb 2019. What a waste of talent.

Once Darius has given his marching orders at the leadership meetings next week, the planning will start and then execution of the plan begins. I bet some notifications will be in February or whenever performance reviews begin as they will do it as part of the "9-Block Elbow" requirements. e.g. 5-10% of all employees must be in the elbow on 9-block in HPD. This way by forcing out with performance review they can select who to RIF, vs. Across the department type RIF's they have to be very careful of age and male discrimination. 2019 is going to start with a bang up job on RIFs for sure.

Sadly yes more "efficiency " is planned called OEF. Organizational Efficiency. Basically how many people you reduce. Corp IT plan for 2019 has significant cuts initially planned for each of the first six months. Including some Band 4 employees before March 8 so hey don't get their bonus. While legal it isn't pretty unethical. But ethics at Honeywell is a dirty word. Projects across the board were cut 30% so likely RIF targets are at least in double digits over the four quarters of 2019

They are also planning RIFs based on Hub strategy and forcing remote site employees out. That HUB strategy was actually on the STRAP which is the strategic plan but showed very tactical layoffs starting in January. And I am sure other Corp areas will be impacted. They have been also hit us with the "Must move to Charolette" or lose your job.

Corp Finance has also given ultimatums to small teams already

And Darius roof top consolidation plan is to reduce sites by at least 50%. He as publicly stated that in Investors calls and quarterly stock holders earnings calls which are all open to the public. Oddly he doesn't bring it up at internal town halls. ;)

I think the point is, is not to function. They'll just say it is, when it isn't, then also say what a great job India is doing. Who cares about customers, anyway?
