Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

12/13/2018 - Surplus

On Thursday 12/13/2018 AT&T called a formal layoff of 226 employees in the Southwest region affecting Missouri, Texas and Oklahoma only days before Christmas. This is all in preparation of their 2020 vision of reduction of Wireline employees and moving to the 'new' technology.

I don't know why there is so much talk about layoffs at AT&T! I am seeing more and more Indian AT&T workers in downtown St. Louis all the time. Now that is about all I see.

Yes....We know.....All the while repair tickets for POTS and now even DSL take a week or more to dispatch a technician on. Even businesses. So much for "Integrity" and "Customer Service" Week. Field techs are under so much pressure to "make their numbers" that dispatches often result in repeats. At&t is angering many of our legacy customers. I cannot imagine these customers retaining At&t services with any "new" technology.
