1kua- it is newsworthy but how do we know if not posted here? We hear a group here or there but never hear the % or actually numbers. And take it to the media! Enough of the unemployment cover ups!

Has ANYONE seen in the news ATT surplused a few hundred people last week in Houston, Dallas, etc? Why is this not news worthy?

If the recent Social Security COLA is any guide, that hike was 2.8%. So 2% doesn't maintain pace with inflation.

Goose the stock price? It's still at $30 a share. It was $38 a year ago. This is not goosing the stock price, it's more like a consolation prize for a terrible year. At some point the company will have to admit that the best investment is in buying back shares instead of trying to build a me too streaming and advertising service. Sadly it is more likely that they will buy MoviePass instead.

Randall and his gang of thieves and id--ts have to do something to goose the stock price and make their options worth something.

That extra penny per share really makes up for the 20% drop in stock price this year...

The company is definitely cash and asset rich despite Wall Street hating it.

My view as an x employee and a retiree that the company can increase its earnings by simply letting go a lot of employees and hiring cheaper and younger contractors, if at all they needed.

The downside for an employee is that unless you are politically endowed and connected, you ll have a miserable time between the rotating layoffs. If you are a compentent engineer, not the political type, cut your losses and seek a better employer, your asset is your experience and what projects you worked on.
