@2iga .... damn! You nailed that one hard. Very true and I have long said that the best thing that could happen to this company would be for all the ex-RBOC, Bell headed VP and above to be shown the door. Anyone that has a Bell background or a desire to manage the company like GE needs to be gone from the company.

No big deal, your 401k match was the slush fund used for the purchase and a fiduciary was added long after for your protection. These guys belong in handcuffs.

So long as Vz is headquartered in Basking Ridge and NYC, instead of Silicon Valley or Seattle, those in charge will never understand or be able to compete effectively with companies that are, or be able to recruit the innovative people they need.

The old school mentality of leadership simply isn't suitable to lead innovation. Instead, they keep coming up with useless programs like "lean six sigma", dumb ideas like Go90, running innovative companies like Terramark into the ground through incompetence, and wasting billions on Yahoo and AOL, which were obsolete years ago.

“The guys who made those decisions are gone. There's a new sheriff in town.”

The decisions were made on Lowell’s watch and ultimately his responsibility. He’s still there as COB and I’m sure Hans takes his cues from Lowell. Hans is just there as a figurehead to for the mass executions so Lowell doesn’t have too.

Sears was a relationship based company too. Turns out customers don't give a f--- about that. They want everyday low prices. Walmart won the world with a glorified plane hangar and minimum wage stockboys, while Sears with associates willing to serve you hand and foot went bankrupt. Amazon goes one further and has one click shopping with no need for physical stores, and tries to eliminate as many humans as possible through AI and robots, and customers love it. They've got some of the highest repeat business and inventory turnover around, exceeded only by Apple.

Verizon is a relationship based company, change the culture if you want executives with skills and talent. Otherwise, the company will continue to be run like a used car dealership.

So what’s to take exception with. VZ senior management is dummies that have done nothing but “mid-steps” for the past 4 years. They preach that the millennials don’t want to pay a premium for best in class network. But they fail to see if they would stop the insanely stupid investment in failed BS, they could invest in the network to keep it beat in class, pursue 5g AND reduce the rates we charge.

I hope Lowell quickly figures out what he wants to be when he grows up.
