Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Maybe it's time for a management strike?

What happened when 36k union associates went on strike in 2016? They received a new contract. So why don't we go on strike, instead of taking a deal or being outsourced...

In 2016 the company shifted resources and completely covered the union absence with hastily trained employees from other groups. The current situation is an offshoot of that seed. Next strike the union is cut, the company points to years of non-union cuts for justification.

Too late the union had the chance to unionize lower management in 2003 when they stole our pensions but as usual they were short sited. I would have loved to sign on the dotted line for the union but we had some short sited management cool aid drinkers who thought the company would take care of them. They kept us divided and that's how they will destroy us.

When you took a management job, you gave up all Union rights. Sad but true.

That was at a time when the company took care of their own.

Now, nobody cares about your service or expertise.

In the next decade the stupidity of this will come to light for all to see.

But that will be too late. For all of us.

Just work from home and let people know when they ask. All around us, managers are ignoring and even hiding out to avoid interacting with people. Also, we started noticing "favored" people have been asked to hide out by working remotely or at a different location! It's quite the show. Also, dear Hans, give some of these top execs the boot! They've been monopolizing leadership positions and playing favorites for years. Keep us and give them the boot.

I would love the union to determine my salary because just about all the time they make more then comparable non union jobs. And i would love to give the union my money if they can get me a no layoff clause and a 4 year contrat !!!!!!!

Hilarious. Non union. You do not have the option.

Now the lower level management has a taste of what the union workers have been going through.

They would fire us on the spot.

No severance, no unemployment, etc.

I am not going to give money to an anti-American (democrat supporting) union.

I also do not want some union determining my salary
