Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

well, DOW down over 500 and Verizon is only down VZ 54.68 USD −0.31

i guess the market could care less about whats going on internally! When other Companys announce this kind of news, they tank the stock but this one seems odd. We loose more when we announce good numbers..

"Verizon is re-positioning itself for the future. Get used to that idea and Reducing operating costs is almost always positive in the markets."

If it was done with working brain, hardwork, honest way, yes it will long lost. But, thinking and implementing plans using executive powers on how to keep others hard earned employees money into their pocket is not re-positioning, It is called cheating/ robbery. The downfall started when hired the fired person from other companies and other illegal people for the executive positions. It cannot stand anymore .

Until too many people are laid off. Then reality sets in and the stock collapses.

Google Hans and Ericsson. He was a superstar when he indiscriminately laid off thousands of employees -- the market loved him then. But later on when people figured out you actually needed employees, to take care of business -- Ericsson tanked and they ran Hans out on a rail.

Then, of course, Verizon decided they wanted some of that and instantly hired him.

Verizon is re-positioning itself into non-existence. A long, lingering death spiral. Layoffs, then selloffs, more layoffs, more selloffs... Until there's no one left and nothing left to sell.

Don't think it could happen? Ask the people who worked for the real AT&T.
