Hey Hans, Great job get rid of all the deadwood. All they do is cut into our bottom line. You are a breath of fresh air. My director has so much spare time he comes out to every central office in the state and help clean the mop sweep the floors take out the garbage etc. etc. why are we paying him.
“I've got a meeting with the Bobs in a couple minutes” GLTA
VZ loaded with bloat hired based on the buddy sydtem and not on skill and experience since 2003. The bloat has survived for yeats based on “ not what you know but who you bl*w. I worked for VZ for 10 years and left to a better job with more money also advancing my career. Once all the bloat is gone I will reapply. Keep up the good work HV.
All those interviews should be recorded live to employees such that people know ..what kind of people they are running the company? Should be fun to watch...Few directors are just ...yes Momy yes daddy..
he still need to treat some cancer plague ...in leadership... if he don’t, even the new blood will follow the same culture as before... these guys survive on connections than talents...
pKL- "new blood", wasn't Armstrong new blood and where did he end up
He needs to remove some of the useless EDs and VPs . Some of them don't know what they don't know.
Article is wrong, VZ may have 300 directors and above, but only 2-3 are true leaders!
I love thinking about these directors sweating in their interview chairs, talking with their hands, and spewing their love of the vz kool aid and the credo. Can’t wait to leave on 12/28!
HANS needs to get rid of some of these VP's that think we live in the middle ages.like in the northeast ,now they want to be your friend,a tiger doesnt change their strips ,you know tyrants belong in castles in the medevil times...it might be better if they bring in new blood to run this company
3 and above, get the popcorn out
Good for Hans .... he first needs to get rid of the old RBOC hostile management mentality. Verizon so badly wants to be looked upon as a progressive, hip, entrepreneurial company and yet they continue to employ supervisors and managers that think they still need to manage in the same fashion as the company did in 1960.
@xwi .... give up trolling. Wireline is not going anywhere at all. Everything that wireless uses goes through buildings, fibers and copper that is owned by wireline. In contrast, you will continue to see a blood letting on the wireless side.
You will also see a tighter integration of wireless facilities INTO the wireline side as well as a continued restructuring to reduce duplication and a continued path to ween wireline off of the legacy software platforms and onto a more web based solution.
Could be a big reorganization coming up before the 11/10 decision date.
Directors are usually not in the top 300.
If anyone yet doubts that HV is completely remaking the company, this ought to convince them.
There was a big meeting in Basking Ridge New Jersey last week, if they do not get the numbers which they want 30%. BIG RIF’S !!!!!!!!!!
Yeah? Who’s buying? Frontier is almost bankrupt, AT&T and cable companies can’t due to FCC. Only Amazon, Google, Facebook, or Apple could afford it, but they don’t want Wireline. I will retire from Verizon as a CWA member in 10 years.
First sale...wireline and unions.
".......what would ya say.....ya do here"?
With a tenure-defining race for 5G on with rival AT&T (T -0.3%), Verizon (VZ +0.6%) CEO Hans Vestberg is looking at a heavy shakeup of management to pick his team going forward, Bloomberg says.
The carrier is already looking to cut costs, with buyout offers reportedly going out to a quarter of the company's workforce in a move to save billions.
Now Vestberg is said to be personally interviewing the top 300 leaders at Verizon, some of which have described the process as re-interviewing for their jobs.
Vestberg joined the company in March 2017 and took over the CEO spot from Lowell McAdam.
Most of the team should be selected by year-end, at which point Vestberg is expected to go to investors to share his strategy -- said to include realignment to sell sets of services as a unified company, vs. Verizon's old approach of silos in separate wireless, landline, data and IT units.
