What positions are being laid off? Are they offering severance or keep job title?
Maybe not the young, but the younger are. They have motives , move out the old and they shall inherit the jobs.
The young aren't to be found among the desperate denziens of unemployment boards. Youth is indeed wasted on the young.

Well I have at least 5 more years thanks to the contract extension with a no layoff clause being hired before 03. So I’ll bank as much as I can from the half mill I’ll receive by 2023. And no I didn’t receive a package because I’m essential.
