Here is a thought

Was talking to colleagues about this and make some sense. I am sure there is a number and list of ppl they want off the books for sure of course others they probably don't. Why not get management together per team and discuss who is on the list and ones that have to go. Then management in the so called 1 -1 can discuss, hey you might want to think about taking it. There are managers out there that have given heads up to there reports in the past rifs. This will make it much easier to decide. I know there will he negatives to this as well, but for the majority it would help.

I can bet most if not all the 30+ are on the get rid of list. I did hear, rumor of course that a few ppl with close to 30 were approached in person to "discuss".

At the point management has had no say in the decisions, since they are offered as well. So as others have said, not an easy decisions as some outside the company think it is.

This is now being discussed in the not so big news outfits, surprised CNBC isn't all over this on a daily basis as they just announced 230k payroll adds!!

I would love to see HR outsourced

@Vs2n4QK so you want HR to have sole discretion on your go no go. Of course its a personal decision, but might need some help (if you dont volunteer) from the people that actually know who you are as opposed to a spreadsheet name that gets highly paid.

I don't want managers involved in their direct reports' retirement process or decision....

How about we publish a giant list instead with a secretive bid and keep everything from the self-serving managers who attempt to construct their own little flotillas inside the company. Yeah let's do that...oh wait, that's what already happened.

If they want people off payroll just implement random d--g testing

Yep, this VSP is to avoid any discrimination allegations. Eventually they will get rid of the people they don't want or need

The ones to go may be the oldest so they probably feel they can’t tell anyone.

I think the whole reasons this exists is just to avoid any discrimination otherwise they’d just cut everyone based on cost, merit and future need.
