Has anyone ever heard of layoffs occurring on Tuesdays or are we safe until Wed/Thur?

The Wacker Building?
Layoffs started on Monday here in Chicago, there are no special days that they layoff, so be prepared. There are 13 floors here, I know of two on my floor, could be more, but since you get x amount of days to stay, I'm guessing more. I know of 8 others on different floors that have been let go as well, so 10 altogether, and there are a bunch of lines that I'm sure have let people go that I or others don't know about.
Any St louis Layoffs?
No the home of Abe Lincoln.
Whomever posted about Illinois, are you in the city that rhymes with Bombard? Because that describes this office too
I believe all layoffs occur on Thursdays at this point. I wouldn’t be too concerned. Most likely the invite won’t come from your manager either. Typically the invites are sent out by an admin assistant the night before after most folks have left work. You come in to a surprise meeting you know nothing about, get told a bunch of carefully crafted lies by a big wig, sent home for the day and asked to come back to work on Friday. Basically Friday the folks who do show up will not get any work done and talk about how much they hate the company all day. It’s not a good corporate strategy but then again, it’s been a while since they had one of those.

In Illinois you can hear the air blowing through the vents, it’s so quiet. Haven’t heard anything yet, definitely wishing they would just come on.
Sorry to hear. What group are you in? Also which (general) location?
Received a meeting invite for tomorrow from boss titled Staff meeting. Having read this forum, and tomorrow being Wed - does not sound very promising :(
Anything happening in Minneapolis? Inquiring minds would like to know
They used to only lay people off on Wednesdays but over the past few months, they've been noticing people on Thursdays. I would say that the only day we're "safe" is Friday.
I’m in San Francisco obsessively watching my email for the meeting invite. Having been through this before, they send out emails in the morning “inviting” people to meetings throughout the day. CAN’T WAIT to be free from this hell.
Feels like they are trying to steal our souls here. With volume so low, it is deathly quiet. We have been asked not to talk about any of this, but we all come in everyday wondering if "Today is the day"
I'm with you!, this isn't an office, this is hell with florescent lighting! give me my notice, so I can sleep easier
"Safe until Wed or Thursday"? You mean doomed until Wed or Thursday. Get me out of here!!!!! This place is miserable. Liars all the way around. Come on iowa locations start the layoffs already.
Has anyone else heard if EIT lending will be doing layoffs? I wish management would at least tell us what they know so far, it would help calm our frustrations.
