What they did in IT with outsourcing and the buyout was just plain wrong. The people looking at who would be rebadged were not told that this buyout was in the works. Even VP’s (other than Vivek) were not told until last Friday. Many different decisions might have been made was this disclosed. I am so disgusted with the lack of ethics displayed by Shankar and HR. Now WE people leaders have to face these angry people while Shankar holds “meetings” reading from a script and all lines muted and takes no questions and then hides in his office. What a loser. You and Hans should at least go out to locations and talk to the people you screwed over. At least have the b*lls to own your decision. That is what leaders do.

Whoever wants to call the White House, go ahead but know that it was the GOP tax cut bill that creates additional financial incentive for corporations to move jobs overseas. Watch what your representatives do, not what they say. "America First" is a slogan.

I think this will fall apart in < 3-6 months. Clearly 50% of the onshore people declined the Infosys deal after an uproar and the ESP was offered, plus I'm hearing there are access issues that haven't been cleared by security and legal. But no matter how bad things may get, heads will not roll at the executive level. They never do.
Shankar made the decision. The direction to outsource was from Hans. Beyond that, it was Shankar’s decision -who, how etc. The next sh!t show will be in 3-6 months when the rushed transition is complete and everything falls apart.
I agree it is not likely Shankar that owns this. Verizon is handing over 10,000 high paying jobs to an Indian company for an American operation, the way to stop this is by political means. Call your congressman and I'm trying to figure out if there is some easy way to get this to the white house. Anyone know if you can just call the white house.

Anytime a company gets an Indian CFO, CIO, CEO, etc. it usually means that outsourcing/offshoring will be INEVITABLE. My company Direct Energy used a guy by the name of Badar Khan who had a relationship with either infosys or tata to layoff the entire Sarasota office and use H1Bs to replace us in Houston TX. For every h1b the ratio is 5:1 offshore. So if 100 people are laid off in US there will be at least 100 h1bs + 500 offshore. These guys are cowards and usually move on to another similar role at a different corporation within 2-3 years of each mass layoff.
you forgot one thing ; He is not a LEADER ; He thought he is the master of IT and have you noticed all his reports are bunch of Indian guys who doesnt take NO for an answer and have no VISION ?

I've known Shankar since he was just a coder. He's not really a bad guy. Maybe he comes off as being a bit, but he's honestly not a bad guy.
I put the blame for this higher up. The board picked the Grim Reaper as the new CEO, and a reaper's gonna reap. Shankar's just the guy who has to hand out the sh*t sandwiches, but I doubt this was his choice.
I guess he could have just resigned instead. I have seen executives do that rather than dish out a mess like this, but we'll never know what goes on behind closed doors.
In any case, buckle up because this is just the start.
