Offer Email

Here is what Hans emailed this morning...

——

V Team,

Today we are announcing a Voluntary Separation Program for a select group of U.S.-based management employees. This enhanced separation program will afford us an opportunity to find more efficiencies in the size and scope of our V Team and help expedite the building of an innovative operating model for our future.

Please read this message from Marc Reed with more information about the program and eligibility.

We are heading into a new phase as we launch 5G and position Verizon to win in a market that will be transformed by the capabilities of this new technology. To capitalize on these opportunities we will need an even leaner, more agile and more efficient operating model so we can continue to deliver the best value for our customers.

With this voluntary program we are proactively engaging our employees to help them best plan for their futures and ensuring we transform the business as smoothly as possible. I ask all of you to stay laser-focused on our customers’ needs so that they continue to receive the service they expect from us.

Hans V

Just to clarify it's not actually exclusive to management. I am not management and qualify for the offer, as does the rest of my department.

The buyout is only offered to those NOT chosen to transition to infosys, retained as Verizon Employees. Which means anyone with 20+ years that does t choose to take the job at Infosys, will not get the same package offered to retained Verizon employees. I smell a class action lawsuit....

"Laser focused". Repeating one of Shankar's b---s--- buzzwords. VZ IT is a clusterf*** and all these chumps are doing is mindlessly cutting headcount in order to make the numbers look better. There is no real strategy behind this at all. Well perhaps with the exception of forcing older people out, as Shankar let slip on his call with the motivation being to reposition the workforce "for the future". If you stay you'll be expected to work even more, not that that is really possible for most people. And you'll end up getting screwed a year from now anyway. If you stay then you're a chump.

This is a very good move. Hans is doing what is best for the company. The offer given to the employees is generous. I know , I would not have been this generous.

This is called leadership and sometime tough decisions need to be made. What was done is the right balance and win-win for all.
