Im in California and havent been offered a package or ever heard anything about this. Anyone know what region this is affecting?
Sadly, the program was highly oversubscribed. They had way more people that wanted out of the company than they had initially planned for, and many were turned down. As such, there will be a lot of unhappy campers at Verizon that will drag their feet until the next layoffs come. It was not the most brilliant business decision. When you offer something like that, you grant it to all who apply.

It's real. Voluntary Separation package email announced this morning to most everyone. Only a few organizations excluded.
My group was EXCLUDED by my VP. I am not a happy camper right now!! How do I get back on the list so that I can still take the severance package? I am ready to go!!!!

Does anyone know if wireless retail sales reps, solution specialist , GMs and/or DMs will get the buy out offer? I’ve read several different scenarios over the past couple of days. I’ve been with the company for over 15 years and am ready to say goodbye.
Yeah... Director reiterated several times, look it over....like no hope unless you are on 5G assignment. Maybe a sell off of wireline?... that would explain why they want to get rid of so many managers. I heard they want 30 to 50k managers to accept it. It's completely disorganized from the last couple of RIFs. Really good and talented people were let go in the last RIF. Who is supposed to run the place now?
Both voluntary offer and rebadging are real and will be told on Monday. Shankar will explain rebadge at 8am EST to all IT.
You won't know your own status from that call unless he mentions the IT groups which are excluded then you can make assumption. You'll learn your own personal status and options in the hours that follow. If you're rebadged you will not get the package offer. If you're not rebadged you'll get the offer, except wireless retail and Union.
I heard wireless is not impacted. Only wireline is rebadged. Any info
Rebadging is not real. Lay offs are not real. Only quick update on leadership change in IT. Please confirm if any one have clear idea on what would be the announcement on Monday and why everyone is not invited?

@1ixw - I am assuming folks are talking about software division. So this includes entire software division including the VDSI based in India. There might be other locations

November RIFs were never announced. So at the mimun there is a reorg. But probably a rebadge. There is also a question if they will do Onshore, VDSI or both
Shankar will announce about IT reorganisation and new leadership teams also he will touch base on IT shrink which will happen in November. This is what I guess... But if its severance package and rebadging well and good.. They don't wait for the future they build it..

Definitely real my director gave few details that could be shared on Friday. Website with full details will be up Monday morning after announcements. I felt like he was telling we need to consider it and look over it even if you don’t wanna leave. He reiterated it 4 times on a 20 minute call. I can read between the lines. I’m out.

I hope a Management offer is announced. Many will put in for it, no one feels valued anymore and knows it is just a matter of time.
Someone started this hoax and it has morphed into the biggest farce ever. They will rif in November and save a ton of money. IT announces new leadership.
