Why does the midwest continue to cater to the company? Why hasn't the CWA called a strike yet? It appears that the company knows the weakness and pretty much dictates every aspect of current contract negotiations. Hey CWA...it's time to put a foot down!

CWA=Catering With AT&T
Those CWA/IBEW clowns in the Midwest are the greatest. They are about as hardcore union as you can get in the 21st century and they will basically work “without a contract” indefinitely. As a 20yr AT&T employee in the Southeast region, I can tell you that the union folks in D4 are ridiculous. They are basically highly paid McDonald’s workers with a huge attitude problem. Have never met or talked with a single member of D4 who had a “Can Do” attitude or a skill set that matched that of a Southeast employee. AT&T has been exploiting the stupidity of CWA/IBEW folks in the Midwest region for years, which is why they continue to lose ground where it counts on every contract. mo--ns.
My guess is since you didn’t strike while you still had some ‘power’ T has you right where they want you. Good job by your union reps. Ever ask for an audit of the dues you pay?

IBEW just gives it all away also in the Midwest. Any word about more call center layoffs ? I'm wondering if more will be announced so we make our 4Q numbers.
I have worked in the Southeast for 20 years. We have never gone out for as much as 1 day! During our last contract talks, we asked our Local president to recommend a 1 day walk out to show our disapproval with the rising cost of health care. She said "We can't do that, the managers will get mad at us" I think a lot of the strike fund has been diverted to political contributions.

From what I’ve heard from stewards meetings with presidents of locals, the no stoke is because the union is afraid that the company will contract out all the work and would fire all of us. It’s laughable...we voted to strike the third week of negotiations overwhelmingly I might add, we should’ve struck when the coals were hot. It’s the biggest load of c-ap.
Our union was pretty good and tuff, then in 1998 to 1999 all the old stalwarts retired and drifted off , this allowed all the lame tard snow flakes to come in at every position. These clowns just want to hold hands with management and us workers.Corruption runs deep, right to the top.There are exceptions but not enough to carry the day . Feels like we pay for nothing.Just one opinion.

Not only is there no contract in sight and as far as I understand no current negotiation going on between Midwest CWA and AT&T the union attempted to float around the idea to put out a ballot to raise union dues. This is completely unreasonable and quite insulting. The employees are sitting without a contract for several months, no current contract negotiations going on, throwing a frivoulous lawsuit at AT&T that got thrown out costIng Union due money and they would like the Union members to pay more. For what I ask?? To put more radio ads out and throw more Union money to attorneys with no favorable outcome. We haven’t been on a strike that utilized any strike fund for decades. I am wondering just how much money is in the supposed decades long accruing strike fund. Maybe an outside auditor is necessary for the International/District CWA Union on down in regards to how the union dues are being spent. That would at least be Union money well spent to make sure it it being directed legallly & lawfully in the best interest of the union members contributing to it.

HAHA You are funny. The company knows the union won't strike, because they would have to spend some of their millions of dollars that are presently in the strike fund. They never will strike, and that is the reason why they have not, even when the majority of union members vote to do so.
