Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Receiving and claims position

Clubs are having the receiving person unload trucks and the claims person do claims. How is HO monitoring this situation? This is not how the new backroom position is suppose to be set up. This is not fair to the clubs who choose to follow the rules. Totally unfair, to most clubs. Both full timers do not need to unload trucks and who will know? Noone cuz they keep it inside the club. While others are being told that they need to follow the job description. Totally shadey!!!!!!

One of the stupidest post I have wasted my time reading. At the end of the day both jobs have to be finished and if thats how its going to be the fastest im sure most clubs will be doing that. Really makes no sense for 2 people to try to unload a truck if there is work to be done in claims.

All I know is that I am in claims applied for the backroom position and was told today I got it and also a very big raise. I have not gotten a raise in 11 years and they made up for it with the backroom position. I have no problem learning the receiving part of the position. I could not leave Sam’s and make what I am making . Starting over for me was not an option. To be truthful I am very happy with my new pay rate .

Well....initially..I would expect the receiving associate with years of forklift experience to handle the "surprise" trucks that need unloading. And claims associates to handle the bulk if claims issues until the other is up to speed. Obviously safety is not in the forefront of HO thinking. To put someone with zero forklift experience in a position of having to learn immediatly is ridiculous. I wonder if they can enlarge the pallet weight on the dc tags? Sam's cant even get the simplest of things done correctly.

Let me try to clarify this, i think what the poster is trying to say is this ....... when these people were talked to , they were told that they had to drive a forklift, they had to receive freight, they had to do the ckaims reports, daily garbage/ returns, pay bills. This is the job discription plus more . You had to learn it all . Not, you do your job, ill do mine. Which made a lot of the people not even interview for the new position because of the requirements of the job discription.

Duh...that sounds about right until the new back room positions goes into effect. Sheesh, no wonder some members think Sam's associates are a bunch of uneducated dummies.

Maybe mind your own business? How does the way one club run affect another club in terms of being "fair"?

What's the problem? Do want both to hold hands to do claims they go do receiving.?

How do club managers expect their associates to follow a basic integrity belief if they don’t? Shame on them.. hopefully associates use the ethics hotline.

Welcome to Sam's club! It's because they don't want to change and adapt to a new way. It will bite them in the butt.

So, the receivers are recieving and the claims associate is doing claims. So they are doing their jobs. That is just horrific. How dare them!
