Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The opportunity went cold..

I received a call from an AT&T Recruiter after I made it to the interview process, one interesting question was "what is your visa status?" once I told her that I was an US Citizen, the energy was gone from her voice, and last time I heard from this people.

Wait at the beginning you said you’re a US citizen then later there is a post saying they questioned your visa status? Which is it? Are you a visa holder or US citizen? I could see them not wanting to hire you if your visa is close to expiring or has some drawn out sponsorship issue associated with it. I don’t think AT&T would stop considering a US citizen for a position unless the job wasn’t in the US.

Run, away. There are plenty of other jobs that pay just as well, with similar or better benefits that are extremely less stressful.

No BS, the question was odd , in the application I responded to the questions: can you legally work, and the H1B visa status, so I do not undestand why they question my visa, indeed weird...

There are no opportunities. The fake "job" postings on the job boards are gamed to make it look like there's a lot out there, but there's not. You'll start seeing the same jobs over and over. The economy is a Ponzi scheme and it's starting to go like a house of cards.
