1wwl - Nobody 'decided' to just leave. We were forced to pick from 2 unsavory choices.

Go work for an Indian outsourcing firm with a history of H1B abuse and poor treatment of US employees.

Get shoved out the door with a package after a knowledge dump.
the low paid replacement is only there because you decided to leave.
Sorry, but if I was training my low-paid, replacement, I'd be feeding him complete BS.
I'm ornery that way.
the retention time is determined by mgr/director based on the system and the knowledge base retained. Most employees will not be retained till end of June but end April or May is more likely.
Expect to be kept until 6/28 if there is a low number moving to Infosys. The contract only works if there is knowledge transfer to lower paid workers. That will take time.
I declined the Infosys offer and am now hoping they let me go on Dec 28.
Manager very non committal on end date
It is less than 25%, Did not expect to end it this way after years, but authoritarians took the decision and is/was happy with whatever was done with VZ, but not at all in a mood for Infy.
75% in this corner. We were happy to stay, but the separation offer makes us even happier to continue our career elsewhere or retire. Nothing but well-wishes to our friends who remain.
it's under 50%
it is definitely NOT that high in the U.S.
