Well, IMO think of this as sort of a credo. A company can sigh it and not "mean" it in any real way
The company is so full of S&*% now that it is amazing. Fortunately for shareholders, the base business generates enough to cushion against these foolish forays into Go90, AOL/Yahoo and the latest crop of accountants running the company. Hopefully one day soon the mutual funds and investment companies that own this place will demand an accounting from the C-suite for their misinvestments and misguided management methodologies. It is interesting to note that many of the 44K who have been offered the "get out of Verizon Free" package have had far more to do with building the underlying company than the current roster of grifters BSing Wall Street with their non-plans. Just sayin'
of course not, they would rather have clowns in skinny jeans and beards playing ping pong instead of doing work.
okx...you are right on the money. Mentally and emotionally, I'm disgusted with what the company has turned into internally. The human factor is gone. It's all about the numbers and that is it. There are better ways to achieve success.

I wouldn’t put it past Verizon to sign it so that they can pretend (wink, wink) to support older employees. In reality, they support the older employee demographic with a “volunteer.” enhanced package and pat themselves on the back for being such a empathetic, caring employer. Older employees, many not ready for retirement, are feeling forced to take the package because they know there’s a target on their back. This package by Verizon is offered to avoid bad PR, age discrimination lawsuits and for political reasons. Sad.
