Injured on the Job - Part 2

Thank you for the responses to my earlier post I should have been more clear in my first post. Anyone have any experience regarding how T treats Prem Techs who are injured on the job and will never be able to return to doing that work due to surgeon's orders? Does T find another position within the company?

I am very, very familiar with this.

This may be long, but I know of what I speak.

Sedgwick is not your friend, but you need to be polite. They will try to challenge you, and if you are not polite they will deny your claim for being "uncooperative."

You will be assigned new case managers, who will ask for the same documentation and info you've already provided. If you do not, your claim will be denied.

You need to get all paperwork in on time. Or your claim will be denied.

You will need follow up letters from DR. every 6 months indicating you are still unable to do the work or your benefits will stop.

The company will be zero help, as they will say the have nothing to do with it.

I asked Sedgwick for all correspondence by email so I had a paper trail. They still called.

Do not travel overnight, be seen doing any manual labor-even pushing a grocery cart around.

They do check folks.

I would see another doctor. And as the previous poster said --A Lawyer"!! The docs that Sedgwick uses seem to be all about keeping you under their "care" for as long as is possible. They (the so called doctors) see a Workers Comp case as a tool for getting that new luxury sports car. That means that as long as they care for you, you aren't 'allowed' to perform any work as you once did.

Good luck to you. Please update on how this turns out.

Couple things: if you are covered under a bargaining agreement, do not accept a management 1a/b position, it is a well known tactic used to remove union protections, and they can fire you anytime, get a lawyer ASAP, the company settles cases before going to a jury, & last use all your benefits, once the figure you are not able to work. They will figured a way to get you out.
