Another tool that just pastes patently false 'news' articles. the 44k is an optional buyout, not a layoff.

You can take the layoff severance from VZ or become a contractor for an off-shore company. You really only can guarantee employment for a year (agreement at Infosys). After that, your job will either be eliminated or moved to India. That's a fact.
Infosys has stated bluntly, they plan on eventually offshoring as many of the VZ jobs as possible.
Infosys has a 'bridge area' where many VZ employment benefits are extended a second year, but actually Infosys has no obligation past one year.
True the headline is incorrect.. VZ didnt layoff 44k employees.. but they offered severance to 44k employees. And if the severance isn't taken, many many of the people offered the package will get laid off on Dec 30. Mark your calendars.

Trust me the headline is correct, if they do not get the volunteers they will RIF !! There’s too much fat in management, decades ago they needed the personnel to replace striking workers We do not need you anymore. That’s what happens when you take the Tie !
