Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

They laid off receiving and claims right before holiday?

Uh? Is that true? What kind of bozo does that in the lead up to holiday? Inventory and shrink will get astronomically worse as clubs struggle to figure out those new functions during times of peak inventory flow.

Just wow....

Remember when they said losing audit team would be fine because it didn't matter if we took losses on inventory day. Well apparently they were wrong, because they are now crying about how bad inventories are coming out. Are they surprised?? At my club we have our previous audit team still doing audits for all departments, and yes at a lower pay. I am already seeing a lot of shrink being created by mistakes especially with this new transition in both receiving and claims, and this paperless c-ap makes it even more impossible to solve. Not to mention that no one in home office answer phone calls or emails to help you. I am so upset with what this company has become. However, I can honestly tell you that I will continue to do my best for my club. I am a 30+ year associate that still cares because this company has been good to me and my family. I have a lot invested in my 401k and stock and it is why I will continue to do my best. If the company does not do well, we all lose. Let's teach and train all these new employees to do their best and lead by example.

Members are allowed to ring up their own items and greeters don’t validate receipts. The company isn’t concerned.

The shrink doubled plus losing the audit team add all these brilliant changes and they are not saving anything in the loss of the payroll. Not to mention the onhands are messed up on stuff all the time so you don't get stuff in members are looking for. Don't know items are hot for the same reason.

I'm surprised they're doing this with 45 days right before the holidays. It would even make more sense to go 60 days and then end. These stores are going to be hit so hard. I know where I won't be shopping this Christmas.

I don't get paid enough to just do claims, and DEFINITELY not enough to do claims plus receiving.

The increase in shrink will be offset by the labor savings . Most of the people in these roles were making probably 40k a year plus benefits on average so the company will probably save money.
