Yeah, stuff happens. But ... the alleged lightning strike occurred at 3 a.m. The fire happened at 10:30 a.m. And where were the redundancies? AT&T had no backup plan other than deny, deny, deny there was a problem. Then they went totally silent. Not a good way to show customers you care. And, oh, yeah, AT&T went down in Florida when Michael hit. Some of my co-workers still don't have service, even in inland areas that weren't hit nearly as hard as the coast.

There was a fault in this building since it was built. Lighting grounding is the first thing installed. and there should have been an arrester on the incoming AC. And chasing a lightning fault is hardest to do. The bad part of the outage was fire department made them disconnect all the low voltage, and that drops everything. Then they had to locate the turf vendor to fix it and restore it.
Distribution Engineers were let go, starting 2017, this year we have so far 13 Isolated GP , Frame Bonding Violations, and 33 Frame Power Reversal Fault failures without any accountability at this location alone.

I am a critic of ATT leadership. But this is not fair. Sh-- happens. The lightening strike hit the power buss. At&t is doing the best they can.
CA service was interrupted due to a cut fiber, remember? The staTe paid AT Santa Clara, Daly City, Chula Vista, Emeryville, Berkeley, and Arvin, California. It was also signed by Los Angeles City Council members Mike Bonin and Curren Price, California Sens. Jim Beall and Josh Newman, and California State Assembly member Tom Daly. Arvin Mayor Jose Gurrola said in a press release that "AT&T has reneged on its responsibility to customers in more rural areas like Arvin."
